Today I am pleased to announce the launch of blognation.com a project which has been in development for the past 3 months.
Blognation is certainly an ambitious”“Go Big or Go Home”” project, the aim being to report on the Web 2.0 startup ecosystem around the globe including, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Italy, Iceland, Netherlands, Israel, Japan, China / Taiwan / Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, South America, all with the help of 16+ blognation editors who are getting ready to start writing.
Today sees the launch of blognation UK and over the coming weeks and months all of the other aforementioned blogs will be launched. And proving that I certainly don’t lack ambition, I am currently speaking with a further 10 more prospective editors to cover Canada, Russia, India, South Africa, South Korea, South-East Asia, Poland, Czech Republic, Turkey and Greece.
There is of course one noticeable absentee from this list and that is the USA, aka Silicon Valley. So why no blognation USA?
Well I took the decision some weeks ago not to cover the USA, simply because there are already enough excellent blogs reporting on the start-up ecosystem over there and one more wouldn’t make the slightest difference.

Danish Entrepreneurs Association congrats Sam and blognation bloggers. We find the mix of web 2.0 and entrepreneurship very interesting and we’re looking to go downstream the global blognation river with you.
However - why not river up with the US stream. I get your point but still… If blognation don’t include the US it ain’t global, Sam.

Et voilà blognation ! All the best for this new project

Cool work, not just States but all over the world is awakening with Web 2.0
July 5th, 2007 at 6:47 am
Martin, thanks for the kind words, I never said we wouldn’t “ever” do a blognation US but just not now. I already have two very well know US bloggers lined up but timing is golden and I’ll announce the plans for the blognation US site later this year or early next.
You may be glad to know there will be a blognation Denmark launching soon. Monday sees the launch of blognation Italy and Germany. The rollout will take a few months and it will also take us a few months to get everyone up to speed on writing but by September we will have got into gear.
