Last night was the NWStartup networking event in Manchester. Manoj Ranaweera the organiser has a long post on the event and further details about a few of the people who attended.

The keynote speaker was Lee Strafford who recently sold his company Plus.net to BT for £67m. Besides discussing his experiences of growing and selling Plus.net, Lee also spoke about Project Sahara, his new angel investment project designed to help incubate and mentor Northern startups along the lines of TechStars.

Lee and Manoj will be revealing more details in the coming weeks about this exciting new project and how you can get involved either as a startup or mentor. In the meantime you can access several discussion documents on the project here.
